The audible alarm is nice and the pger is easy to use. BUT .... Here are the answers to the questions I had and could not find even from the manufacturers web site.It does not have a silent mode in case you wish to ambush the would be thieves. It does not activate via the pager. The pager is a one way device receiving signal only. The key is the only way to activate and deactivate the device. but the good thing about it is the lock has instructions on how many beeps is on and how many beeps is off, so you will not have to remember. Of course since I got the lock either no one has messed with my bike or the pager does not work as I am out of ear shot of the alarm.
